Marketing for Bismarck-Mandan home service contractors

You don’t need a prettier website. You need the phone to ring.

Prozpect Pro builds the website, Google presence and ads that put Bismarck, Mandan and Lincoln contractors in front of homeowners who are ready to hire — in ninety days, with no long-term contract.

One client per trade, per market. If I work with a roofer in Bismarck, I don’t take another one.

The problem

Nobody in Bismarck markets contractors for a living.

There are good agencies in this town. They build brands, run social media, shoot video, and one of the best of them specializes in hunting and fishing outfitters. None of them wakes up thinking about how a homeowner in north Bismarck picks a roofer in February.

The gap

559 contractors. Nobody serving them.

Business counts from the Bismarck-Mandan Development Association 2026 MSA profile. Agency count from public directory listings.

The out-of-state SEO firm

Search “Bismarck SEO” and most of what comes back is a company in another state running a template page with your city dropped into it. They’ve never driven the Expressway. You get a rep, a monthly PDF and a twelve-month agreement.

The local generalist

Talented people doing logos, brochures and websites for every kind of business in town. Good work, but a contractor’s problem isn’t branding. It’s showing up when somebody searches at 9pm with water coming through the ceiling.

The guy who built it once

Your site went up in 2019 and nobody has touched it since. Your Google profile has the wrong categories, four photos and eleven reviews. Meanwhile the company across town posts every week and sits at the top of the map.

Prozpect Pro

One market. One kind of client.

Home service contractors in Bismarck, Mandan and Lincoln. That’s the whole list. Same playbook, sharpened on every job, so you’re not paying me to learn your trade on your dime.

How it works

The 90-Day Sprint

Most agencies ask for a year and show you a chart in month six. This is ninety days with three dated milestones you can check yourself. Miss one and the next month is free.

Days 1–30

01

Foundation

Every lead you’re already getting gets captured, tracked and counted.

  • Deep-dive call, your margins, best job types, crew capacity
  • Teardown of your top three competitors on the map
  • Google Business Profile rebuilt from the ground up
  • New website live
  • Call tracking, form tracking and analytics installed
  • Google Ads and Local Service Ads live
  • Automatic review requests turned on
Day 30 milestoneSite live, profile rebuilt, ads running, and a dashboard showing every call and form. Most contractors see their real lead count for the first time right here.

Days 31–60

02

Traction

Cost per booked job comes down. Rankings start to move.

  • Ads rebuilt on 30 days of your real conversion data
  • Losing keywords cut, budget moved to what closed
  • Technical and on-page SEO across the site
  • Service and city pages published
  • Listings cleaned up across the web
  • First links from suppliers, associations, local sponsors
  • Review count climbing every week
Day 60 milestoneMeasurable movement on at least one money keyword, and a lower cost per lead than day 30, shown side by side.

Days 61–90

03

Compounding

Scale what’s working and prove the whole thing paid for itself.

  • Budget scaled on the campaigns that produced jobs
  • Remaining service and service-area pages published
  • Ongoing authority link building
  • AI search visibility, ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews
  • Conversion fixes, including missed-call text-back
  • Full day 0 vs. day 90 report
Day 90 milestoneBefore-and-after on one page, plus a written plan for the next quarter. Then you decide, month to month, whether I keep going.
Apply Now Not ready for ninety days? Foundation is month to month.

Apply

Start with a free market audit.

Tell me about your business and I’ll record a walkthrough of where you stand against your top three competitors in Bismarck-Mandan — your map rankings, your reviews, your website, and where the leads are leaking out. Ten minutes, yours to keep.

  • I read every application myself. Usually within one business day.
  • I’ll tell you if your market is taken. One client per trade, first come.
  • I’ll tell you if you don’t need me. That happens, and it beats a bad fit.
  • The audit is yours either way. Even if we never work together.

Two minutes. I read every one myself.

Your information stays private. No spam, no list, no sales sequence.

Trades

Built for the work that happens outside.

Every trade has its own season, its own emergency, and its own reason a homeowner picks one company over another. These pages lay out what I’d do for yours.

The North Dakota year

Your calendar is not a national average.

JANMARMAY JULSEPNOV HIGHLOW Roofing Concrete Snow removal

Illustrative shape of seasonal demand, not measured data. The point is the timing: you market in the trough, not the peak.

What I’ll put in writing

Six promises. And two things I’ll never say.

01

Never a long-term contract

Foundation is month to month from day one. The sprint is ninety days, then month to month. Nothing here is an annual agreement.

02

One client per trade, per market

Written into the agreement, not just onto the website. I will not take your competitor’s money.

03

Flat fee, never a cut of ad spend

My income doesn’t go up when I spend more of your money. You pay Google directly.

04

You own everything

Website, domain, Google profile, ad account, tracking numbers, content. If you leave, it all goes with you.

05

You get the owner

My cell number. No account manager, no ticket queue, no handoff to somebody you’ve never met.

06

Milestones, or the month is free

The day 30 and day 60 deliverables ship on time, or you don’t pay for the month that follows.

I won’t promise you the #1 spot on Google.

Nobody controls that algorithm. Anyone who guarantees a ranking is either lying to you or about to do something that gets your listing suspended.

I won’t promise you a lead count.

Seasonality in North Dakota alone would make me a liar by February. What I promise is the work, on time, measured honestly, and you see every number I see.

How I work

Built here. For businesses here.

A small book on purpose. One client per trade per market means I’d rather have ten clients I can name than a hundred I can’t.

Service area

Bismarck. Mandan. Lincoln.

A metro of roughly 137,000 people and about 559 construction businesses, small enough that a contractor who does local search properly can own it, and large enough that owning it is worth real money.

Straight answers

The questions contractors ask

How long until I see something?

Ads can produce calls in the first month. Local SEO is slower, real map pack movement usually shows between day 45 and day 90, and it keeps compounding after that. Anyone who tells you SEO works in two weeks is selling you something. What you will have inside thirty days is a live site, a rebuilt Google profile, ads running, and — for most contractors, for the first time, an honest count of how many leads you are getting.

Am I locked into a contract?

Never an annual one. The 90-day sprint is ninety days, because that is how long the build takes and I am not going to start a website in month one and get cancelled in month two, after day 90 it is month to month with thirty days’ notice. And if ninety days is more than you want to commit to right now, Foundation is month to month from day one: your Google profile and review engine, cancel any month.

Will you work with my competitor?

No. One client per trade, per market, written into the agreement. If I am working with a roofer in Bismarck-Mandan, I turn down every other roofer here, which is also why applications sometimes get declined for reasons that have nothing to do with you.

I already can’t keep up with the work I have. Why would I want more leads?

Then you may not need me yet, and I will tell you that on the call rather than take your money. But it is worth asking a second question: are you busy with the right jobs? Most contractors around here are full of low-margin work they said yes to because it showed up. Better marketing is not only more leads, it is more of the jobs you would pick if you had a choice, which is what lets you start saying no to the rest.

Do you handle my ad budget?

No, and that is on purpose. Your Google Ads account is yours, your card is on it, and you pay Google directly. I charge a flat management fee, never a percentage of what you spend. If I got paid more for spending more of your money, you would be right not to trust my recommendations.

What about winter?

I live here too. Seasonality gets planned for, not ignored. Ad budget shifts, content gets built during the slow months so it is already ranking before the season starts, and if you have counter-seasonal work like snow removal we build a funnel for that instead of letting the site go quiet for four months.

Who does the work?

I do. Prozpect Pro is deliberately small. The person who audits your site is the person who answers your phone and records your monthly walkthrough. That caps how many contractors I can take on, which is exactly why this is an application and not a shopping cart.

Still reading? Then let’s find out where you stand.

The audit is free, it takes me about ten minutes to record, and it is yours whether we work together or not.
