Google Business Profile
The highest-return asset you own, and the one almost every contractor here has set up wrong. Fixing it is usually the fastest free win available.
How it works
What actually happens
Rebuild
Categories (the single biggest lever, and almost always wrong), service areas, hours, services, products, attributes, and a description written for a human rather than for 2014.
Photos
Real job photos, geotagged, added on a schedule instead of four blurry ones from 2019. If you don't have any, I'll tell you exactly what to shoot with your phone.
Posts and questions
Weekly posts, and the Q&A section seeded with the questions you actually get asked. Almost nobody does this, which is exactly why it works.
Reviews
Tied to the review module if you take it — steady new reviews beat a big pile of old ones, and Google knows it.
Who this is for
- ✓ Your profile has the wrong categories, few photos, and old reviews
- ✓ You want the cheapest, fastest visibility win there is
- ✓ You show up for your own company name but not for your service
When I’d tell you to skip it
- — You've genuinely got it dialled in already — some contractors do, and I'll tell you
- — You don't serve customers at or near a physical location or defined service area
Questions
About google business profile
Why does this matter more than my website?
Because the map pack sits above the regular results, and most people searching for a contractor on a phone never scroll past it. Your profile is doing more work than your homepage whether you maintain it or not.
Can I do this myself?
Honestly, yes — a lot of it. If you want to, I'll tell you what to fix on the audit call and you can go do it for free. I'd rather you hear that from me than find out later.
Find out where you stand.
Apply for a free audit and I’ll record a walkthrough of where your leads are leaking — missed calls, your Google presence, and your top three competitors. Ten minutes, yours to keep.
